Coming Soon to the East Mountains!
Thank you for your patience while we get settled.
Snow Moon Homestead was established in the Sandia-Manzano Mountains of New Mexico. The homestead is named after each member of the blended family of six; with four members being born in February (the month of the Snow Moon) and the remaining two members having the middle names “Snow” and “Moon”.
Buckeye chickens are the homestead’s pride and joy. The breed is on the Livestock Conservancy’s Watch List, with less than 5,000 breeding birds in the United States. Snow Moon Homestead hopes to expand this amazing breed’s population in the Southwest. Other poultry included in the homestead are Perkin, Welsh Harlequin, and Khaki Campbell ducks.
The homestead focuses on ethical poultry rearing, native gardening, water conservation, and homemade crafts. Eggs, herbal teas, fresh produce, and crafts are sold online, at local markets, and at the homestand. The business is continuously adapting and expanding its products and plans to eventually breed poultry for sale and establish a vineyard on the property.
